Web Alignment and Tension Control

The AKU-Guide AII, which features tension control and the ability to track and reposition the single face webs to the double backer liner automatically by a series of cameras or electronically by a control panel at the slitter scorer. The AII Tension and Alignment Systems are manufactured in the U.S. under license by Ducker Fordertechnik, Langenfeld, Germany. The AKU-Guide III Systems have a U.S. Patent.

Web Alignment Systems consist of Separators, Load Formers, and/or Bridge Guides

Separators for Rotary Die Cutter and Flat Bed Die Cutters. The Separator is available in two primary versions, Standard and Narrow. It can be Installed behind a rotary die cutter to either the drive or operator side, depending on space available. The separator features motorized set-ups in less than one minute. The interlocking, overlapping, and odd-shapped blanks (up to one half of the blank length) can be separated with standard features. The separator also offers Automatic bundle height adjustment. Bridge Guide

Automatic Upgrading for Slotting Section

ADI/PDM introduces the new "Powerset" upgrade for existing manual and powered creasing slotting sections on most machines. This system uses two servo driven set heads, one each for the upper and lower shafts. Each set head has a movable arm that engages the yoke of each creasing and slotting head. Once in position the head is locked down before the set arm disengages. Bronze pucks on each yoke maintain the axial position of the head. The system eliminates the maintenance intensive ball screws found in most existing creasing and slotting sections. This system also includes an operator interface for entering and storing setup dimensions. Each setup can have an item number assigned for use on subsequent runs. Setup for mid-size machines is approximately thirty seconds. A means for manual unlock and movement is also provided.
